Born into a European dynasty of collectors, John C. Kulukundis’ heritage has defined his life’s work.
“My family have been avid collectors for generations, and I was privileged to grow up surrounded by a formative array of paintings and sculptures, from emerging artists to fine art. As a young child, I’d take myself to the Victoria & Albert Museum, to marvel over old master paintings and magnificent gemstones. By the time I was eight, I’d bought my first pieces — a Siberian Amethyst and Japanese Netsuke — both of which I still own.”
The inevitable extension of that childhood obsession, Janus Arts now offers a select international clientele the finest, bespoke service available, including:

EX MARLBOROUGH FINE ART
Renowned for her impressionistic seascapes, the Suffolk-born artist, Maggi Hambling, has been painting the waters off the East Anglian coast since 2002. One of the earlier works from this ‘North Sea’ series, ‘High Sea, August’ encapsulates the wild ferociousness for which these coastal waters — and indeed the artist herself — are so famed.
At Janus Arts, every commission is an intensely personal affair and integrity is key. Whether you are looking to add wisely to your existing collection or invest in art as a diversified asset, we will help you navigate the art market with ease. We can advise on your collection’s focus and direction, source specific acquisitions and, where necessary, oversee restoration by acclaimed experts. Meanwhile, clients wishing to sell private works can do so in complete confidence. Rest assured that we will manage all your necessary arrangements with absolute diplomacy.
