So, let’s begin.
A sublime example of Tiffany & Co.’s finessed Art Deco work, this platinum and diamond ‘cocktail’ strap-bracelet — each exquisite diamond full fancy cut and polished to fit — is definitive proof that true style never dies.
An eternally elegant piece of statement jewelry; thanks to Janus Jewels, the bracelet can now also be worn as a choker, as John C. Kulukundis explains:
"I fell for the bracelet’s rare sophistication instantly. However, it also struck me how wonderful it would look if it could be worn around the neck, too. So, working with my best goldsmith, I created a bespoke platinum, diamond and velvet choker-fitting to match the bracelet perfectly."
This now extremely versatile signed jewel is sold complete with its original gilt-tooled leather Tiffany & Co. case.

When, in the 1860s, the world’s great jewelers began signing their works, they could not have anticipated the effect their etched moniker would have. Individually special, beautifully crafted, yet always of a known ‘type’; today, specific signed, vintage works from the Edwardian era through to the 1970s remain hugely sought after. Prized pieces include Cartier’s gem-set panther jewels of the 1930s; Van Cleef & Arpels’ fluid Ludo bracelet — its silky honeycomb mosaic of gold set with precious stones; and Verdura’s revered, jewelled Maltese Cross cuffs, the result of his early collaboration with Coco Chanel. Not forgetting, Cartier’s multi-gem set animal novelty brooches of the 1950s and 1960s.

Jewels with the power to bewitch and beguile have been John C. Kulukundis’ overriding passion for more than twenty years. As such, impeccable contacts within the trade provide access to some of the finest stones available to the market, including flawless white diamonds and fancy cut diamonds of yellow, pink and blue hues.
Colored stones are a speciality, from the intense fire of Burmese rubies and their crystalline Siamese counterparts to the most highly prized Kashmir sapphires of silky, cornflower blue. And while more than 95% of emeralds — including the biggest and best — have been enhanced using traditional oil treatment, importantly, Janus focuses on untreated emeralds, or those with only ‘minor oil’, but never more.
Pigeon blood, cushion shape Burmese ruby, 5.65 carats.
Untreated, oval cushion shape Colombian emerald, 4.10 carats.
Electric blue, emerald cut unheated Brazilian Paraiba tourmaline, 3.60 carats. An exceptionally unusual crystalline stone.
Offering impeccable provenance, all Janus stones are responsibly sourced.
Inspired by the singular beauty of a solitary, rare gem; each Janus Creation, while unique, is always guided by the stone.
A prime example is Janus’ Colombian emerald and vivid yellow diamond ring. Old mine emeralds are renowned for their remarkable depth of color. Sensing the stone’s potential, Kulukundis purchased the Victorian brooch it was languishing in and had it skillfully recut and polished. Now, fittingly, the ring’s central focus, the old stone’s true quality is finally realised.
Designed in-house and handcrafted to exacting standards, every Janus Creation is truly one-of-a-kind. Intricately delicate, the designs pair beautifully with yellow gold or platinum; which, unlike white gold, have the properties to achieve Janus’ required lightness and finesse.
Affording clients the chance to realise their jewelry dreams, private commissions are a speciality. Conversely, Creations also provides a wonderful opportunity for clients to update jewelry they’ve tired of — or breathe new life into inherited jewels that have not stood the test of time.
